BATON ROUGE — The LSU Sports Radio Network will make is 2008-09 athletic season debut this week with three events, including the broadcasting of the Tigers’ season-opener against Appalachian State on Saturday, Aug. 30 in Tiger Stadium.
The LSU Sports Radio Network hits the air for the first time this year with the premier of the The Les Miles Show presented by Capital One Bank on Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. from Walk-On’s.
The one-hour weekly radio show is hosted once again by the Voice of the Tigers Jim Hawthorne and has coach Miles taking questions from callers as well as a segment where members of the audience can ask the coach questions. The Les Miles Show presented by Capital One Bank can be heard in Baton Rouge on 98.1 FM and across the state on the LSU network. The show is also aired in the Geaux Zone on LSU’s website, www.LSUsports.net.
LSU opens its 2008 football season on Saturday, Aug. 30 when the Tigers host Appalachian State in Tiger Stadium. Hawthorne, along with color analyst Doug Moreau and Hultberg will be there to call the action.
The LSU Sports Radio Network hits the air two hours before kickoff each week with a pre-game show that features player and coach interviews, an interview with the opposing head coach as well as the final words from coach Miles before the Tigers take the field.
Finally, LSU Sunday Night Live! makes its 2008-09 debut next Sunday, Aug. 31 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Ninfa’s Mexican Restaurant here in Baton Rouge. Hultberg will serve as the host each week for LSU Sunday Night Live!
LSU Sunday Night Live! is presented each week by Louisiana John Deere Dealers. It’s a weekly one-hour radio call-in show that is aired locally on 107. 3 FM, statewide on the LSU network and on the Internet in the Geaux Zone on LSUsports.net.
