LSU Announces Initiatives to Avoid Heat on Saturday

Fans are encouraged to wear loose clothing and a hat and to properly hydrate themselves to avoid heat exhaustion.

Sunscreen of at least 30 SPF is recommended, repeating the application periodically over the course of the day.  Sunscreen should be applied while the skin is dry.

Fans are advised to seek shade if dizziness occurs and should drink plenty of fluids, such as water and isotonic drinks.

Fans are advised that excessive alcohol consumption will compound heat problems.

Drinks with excessive caffeine (energy drinks, iced coffee, etc.) should be avoided as they could result in dehydration.
