BATON ROUGE — Capital One Bank has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement to become the “Official Bank of LSU Athletics,” it was announced by LSU and LSU Sports Properties on Friday.

Capital One becomes the sixth corporate member of Team LSU, the top level of support for LSU Athletics.  This impressive list includes Cox Communications, Ochsner Health System, Peoples Health, Super Chevy Dealers and Verizon Wireless.

“As the Official Bank of LSU Athletics, Capital One Bank is pleased to play a key role in supporting the future success and growth of LSU Athletics,” said Rob Stuart, president, Capital One Bank-Louisiana. “We’re also pleased to be associated with a university whose commitment to academic excellence is reflected in its growing number of nationally ranked programs and in-depth research opportunities.”

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Capital One Bank will receive premium signage in all LSU athletic facilities; radio, television, Internet and game program advertising; game sponsorship benefits, tickets and hospitality access for sporting events; and use of the Team LSU mark for advertising and promotions. Additionally, Capital One Bank will be the presenting sponsor of The Les Miles Show, The Trent Johnson Show, The Van Chancellor Show and The Paul Mainieri Show. These coaches radio call-in shows air on the LSU Sports Radio Network during the football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and baseball seasons, respectively.

“By becoming a Team LSU partner, Capital One Bank demonstrates their dedication not only to our programs and student-athletes but also to our fans,” said Joe Alleva, LSU Director of Athletics. “In this competitive world of collegiate athletics, it takes partners like Capital One to be able to win championships.  The LSU Athletic Department strives to maintain a level of quality worthy of the LSU brand and a partnership with the quality of an organization like Capital One will only enhance our pursuit of excellence. With its statewide presence, Capital One Bank shares LSU’s commitment to community service and making Louisiana an even better place to live, work and play.”

While LSU’s program will benefit greatly from Capital One’s support, the relationship is mutually rewarding.

“Team LSU offers premier companies like Capital One a tremendous opportunity for exposure to some of the most loyal and passionate college sports fans, alumni and students in the country,” said Ward Wyatt, general manager of LSU Sports Properties.  “With the successful record and strength of LSU Athletics, Tiger Stadium is one of the hottest sports venues in country, and we’re glad Capital One has shown its support and will be part of the action.”
