BATON ROUGE — Ronnie Haliburton, who has supervised facility services in the LSU Athletic Department for the last four years, has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Facility Services and Maintenance, athletic director Joe Alleva has announced.

“The condition, maintenance and future improvements to athletic facilities is critical to our success and it is important for fan enjoyment, so this is an important position in our athletic program,” Alleva said. “In my initial discussions with coaches and staff members, it is clear that Ronnie does a tremendous job coordinating facility maintenance, and his position will become more important as new facilities like the baseball and softball stadiums open next year.”

Haliburton came to the athletic department in December of 2003 from LSU’s facility maintenance department where he served as manager since 1998. In March of 2007 he was promoted to the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Facility Services.

Haliburton played for the LSU football team from 1986-89, and was a member of two Southeastern Conference championship teams. He later played for the Denver Broncos of the NFL for three years.

He first joined LSU in an administrative capacity in 1994 as resident assistant of Broussard Hall, then the school’s athletic dormitory, before moving to the weight room as a student assistant strength coach for LSU’s student-athletes.

He became a resident manager in 1996 before being named coordinator of residence life later that year. In 1998 he became Manager of Facility Maintenance at LSU.
