KINGWOOD, Texas — LSU women’s golfer, Lindy LaBauve, who just completed her freshman year with the LSU team, won her first round match Tuesday in the 93rd Women’s Southern Amateur at the Island Course at the Clubs of Kingwood.
LaBauve birdied the 18th hole to take current USGA senior champion, Anna Shultz of Rockwall, Texas, to extra holes and eventually closed out the match with a win on the 21st hole.
LaBauve will play her second round match on Wednesday as the field is reduced to the final 16 players.
