AUBURN, Ala. — The 18th-ranked LSU men’s tennis team looks to rebound from Friday’s loss at Alabama when it battles Auburn Sunday at 1 p.m. at the City of Auburn/Auburn University Yarbrough Tennis Center.
LSU (4-2, 0-1 SEC) fell at 20th-ranked Alabama by a 5-2 score on Friday. Auburn (5-3, 1-0 SEC) won its first conference match of the season by defeating Arkansas, 5-2, on Friday.

“Our team is glad to get to play again so soon after our tough match against Alabama,” said LSU head coach Jeff Brown. “They are eager to get back out there and improve. Their attitudes have been very good which should lead to daily improvements. We look forward to seeing how they respond.”
LSU has four players that have double-digit wins in singles this season. Freshman Sebastian Carlsson leads all Tigers with 15 wins. Senior Jan Zelezny owns 14 wins. Freshman Julien Gauthier‘s 13 and senior Kevin Dessauer‘s 10 rounds out LSU’s top four in singles wins.
Eric Shore enters his 17th season as Auburn’s head coach. Auburn has two singles players and two doubles teams listed in the latest national rankings. Alexey Tsyrenov holds the No. 59 spot and Tim Puetz is listed at No. 81. Puetz and Tsyrenov each represent a team in the doubles rankings.
