BATON ROUGE ? Despite being undefeated in singles since the fall, LSU junior Megan Falcon fell seven spots to No. 15 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s top 100 singles players released on Wednesday.
LSU (5-2) also placed one doubles team in the ITA’s top 60 doubles rankings as juniors Staten Spencer and Mykala Hedberg were listed at No. 56.
Falcon is 9-0 in the spring, including 6-0 in dual play, and she is 14-2 overall on the season. Falcon has also beaten five ranked opponents, including the nation’s third-ranked player, Northwestern’s Georgia Rose. Four of the unranked players Falcon beat during the season are now listed in the latest rankings.
Hedberg and Spencer are 9-3 on the season and 4-1 in dual play, and the duo is 2-0 against ranked opponents.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action Sunday at 11 a.m. CT at No. 20 Florida State, who was a 5-2 winner over LSU in Baton Rouge last season.
