BATON ROUGE — Seniors Quinlan Duhon, Shannon Stein and Dee Dee Henderson have been selected as the captains for the 2008 LSU softball season; it was announced by head coach Yvette Girouard on Monday.
A second baseman from Upland, Calif., Stein is entering her second season as a team captain after also serving as one of three captains last season. Duhon, a native of Youngsville, has started in right field and designated player over her previous three seasons and saw action at first base during fall practice. Atlanta, Texas, native Henderson moved into the starting line-up last season at designated player and saw action in the outfield during fall practice.
“The coaching staff and players alike were on the same page with these three selections,” said Girouard. “Quinlan Duhon, Shannon Stein and Dee Dee Henderson represent LSU Softball on and off the field the way it should be defined. They will lead with passion, commitment, and love for their team and University.”
The 2008 season will begin with the Easton Tiger Classic on Feb. 15-17. The Tigers will host St John’s, Ball State, Nicholls State and Chattanooga in the three-day tournament at Tiger Park.
