BATON ROUGE — LSU student-athletes made Christmas a little brighter for several families in the Baton Rouge area on Wednesday night as members of the athletics teams handed out presents to children at the Christmas Toy Drive party in the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes.
The Toy Drive is an annual event sponsored by the Shaquille O’Neal/CHAMPS Life Skills Center. All of the athletics teams and departments sponsor children from Catholic Community Services and donate toys to the families. Those toys were then delivered to the children out at the party.
In addition to receiving presents and associating with LSU’s student-athletes, the children were treated to a visit from Santa Claus. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Toy Drive culminated in a party in the Bo Campbell Auditorium in the Cox Communications Center.
