DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Former LSU women’s golfer and former United States Women’s Amateur Champion Meredith Duncan of Shreveport shot a final round of 1-over 73 at the 2007 LPGA Qualifying School and regained full status on the LPGA tour for the 2008 season.
Duncan will play for the third consecutive year on the tour but with her tie for ninth place finish earns one of the 17 full-time playing cards that were available for the tour in 2008. She was a full-time qualifier in 2006 but only was able to keep conditional status for 2007, getting in fewer tournaments when spots were open.
Duncan shot rounds of 69-71-71-71-73 in the 90-hole event to finish at 5-under par 355. The cut for the 17 cards was at 4-under 356.
The All-American who finished her LSU career in 2002 participated in 13 events in 2007 and earned over $34,000 on the tour. She has played nearly 60 career events on the tour and won close to $100,000.
