BATON ROUGE — The LSU baseball team will participate in two community service projects Saturday in Baton Rouge, as the Tigers continue to perform active roles in philanthropic events.
LSU players will take part in the Buddy Walk at 9 a.m. at the Ochsner Medical Center on Interstate 12 and O’Neal Lane. The Buddy Walk is designed to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome.
Other members of the squad will appear in the ALS Walk at 9:30 a.m. at the LSU Veterinary School on Skip Bertman Drive. The ALS Walk promotes awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Earlier this month, LSU baseball players visited patients in the pediatric unit at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. The players signed autographs and offered encouraging words to the children and their families.
