BATON ROUGE — LSU’s 30-24 win over Auburn on Saturday propelled the Tigers to No. 3 in the Bowl Championships Series Standings, which were released on Sunday evening.
The Tigers, who are also ranked No. 3 in both the Associated Press Top 25, USA Today Coaches Poll and the Harris Interactive Poll, have a BCS average of .9114. Ohio State is No. 1 in the BCS with a .9759 average, followed by Boston College at No. 2 with a 9501 average.
Arizona State (.7629 average) and Oregon (.7623 average) round out the top five.
The BCS Standings, which determines the two teams who play in the BCS National Championship Game, is calculated by combining the Harris Interactive Poll, the USA Today Coaches Poll along with the computer rankings.
LSU goes into this week’s open date with a 7-1 overall mark and a 4-1 Southeastern Conference record. LSU returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 3 when they travel to face Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
