BATON ROUGE — LSU football fans are encouraged to arrive early for Saturday’s game in Tiger Stadium between the top-ranked Tigers and No. 9 Florida.
Kickoff for the game is 7:28 p.m. The game is sold out and will be televised nationally by CBS.
LSU officials are asking fans to carpool, to expect traffic delays, to arrive at the campus early and to go to their seats in the stadium early.
“This is one of the most anticipated games in the history of Tiger Stadium, and we could have more people on campus than ever before,” said LSU athletic director Skip Bertman. “Record crowds mean more traffic and more congestion, so we’re encouraging fans to be patient and to arrive early.”
The Tiger Marching Band will arrive at North Stadium Drive earlier than usual so that fans who wait for the band can begin to move to their seats sooner. The band is expected to arrive at North Stadium Drive at approximately 5:40 p.m.
Mike VI will be making his first appearance in Tiger Stadium this Saturday. For the first time, the tiger mascot will lead the Tiger Band when it marches down North Stadium Drive. Mike VI will make his first appearance in the stadium with the LSU cheerleaders at approximately 6:55 p.m.
Other significant events on Saturday include the ESPN Gameday broadcast from the Parade Grounds at 9 a.m. and a free concert by Cowboy Mouth at Tiger One Village in front of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center beginning at 3 p.m.
The gates of Tiger Stadium will open at 5 p.m.
