Soccer Announces 2007 Television Schedule

BATON ROUGE ? Fans who are unable to make the trip to the LSU Soccer Complex in the fall to see the Tigers in action will have the opportunity to watch from the comfort of their own home as four of LSU’s home matches in 2007 have been scheduled for a live TV broadcast.

The Tigers will kick off the Southeastern Conference slate with the first SEC-TV broadcast of the season as they are scheduled to take on Western Division rival Ole Miss on Sunday, Sept. 30, in a regionally televised match on Fox Sports Net beginning at 1 p.m.

“We’re excited about opening up the SEC-TV schedule at home this year, and we’re looking forward to a great match with Ole Miss,” said LSU head coach Brian Lee. “This has been a very competitive series since we’ve been here, and this year’s match should be no different. It’ll be a pivotal game early in the conference season for both sides.”

LSU is also scheduled to have a pair of league matches aired live on The Pelican Broadcasting Network, Cox Cable 113, including its home matches against Georgia on Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. and South Carolina on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. In addition, Cox Sports Television will broadcast the Tigers’ match against in-state rival Louisiana Tech on Sept. 2 at 1:30 p.m.

“It’s great to have this kind of exposure in what could be a historic season for this program,” Lee said. “We feel like we have the potential to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time, and it will give us an opportunity to turn a lot of LSU fans onto the sport of soccer.”
