BATON ROUGE — LSU track and field coach Dennis Shaver signed a new contract on Friday, director of athletics Skip Bertman announced.
Shaver, who recently completed his third-year as head coach of the LSU track and field program, guided both the men and women to second place finishes at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June.
The contract will be presented to the LSU Board of Supervisors for approval at its August meeting. Terms of the three-year deal call for Shaver to make $165,000 the first year, $175,000 in year two and $185,000 the final year. The contract also includes incentives based on post-season performance.
“I’m satisfied with the contract,” Shaver said. “I’m excited about the direction that the LSU track and field program is heading and the commitment that LSU has made to our program.”
