RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — Megan Falcon of the LSU women’s tennis team had the day off to celebrate her 22nd birthday because her doubles match was postponed on Thursday at the XV Pan American Games.
Wet conditions on the courts caused delays in many of the early matches, which led to the postponement of Falcon’s doubles match.
Falcon and partner Audra Cohen were scheduled to play Mexico’s Melissa Torres Sandoval and Erika Clarke at noon central time in the Doubles Round of 16, but the match has been pushed back to Friday with a scheduled start time of noon.
The winners will advance to the quarterfinals to face the winners of the match featuring fourth-seeded Aleksandra Wozniak/Marie-Eve Pelletier of Canada and Vilmarie Castellvi/Kristina Brandi of Puerto Rico.
