Women’s Golf Media Guide Voted No. 4 in Nation

BATON ROUGE — LSU’s 2006-07 women’s golf media guide earned national recognition from the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) as it was voted the fourth best in the nation in the organization’s yearly publications contest.

The 48-page guide was written and edited by Senior Associate Sports Information Director C. Kent Lowe with layout and design provided by graphic design coordinator Krystal Bennett and publications director Jason Feirman. LSU staff photographer Steve Franz contributed the photos for the book.

“Kent and Krystal did a tremendous job on this book from the beginning, starting with the wonderful pictures taken with Mike the Tiger on our cover,” said LSU women’s golf coach Karen Bahnsen. “Kent’s knowledge of the program and the game of golf is a big asset to our team and the guide shows our former players and possible future players what a wonderful situation we have at LSU.”

The media guide is a complete source of up-to-date information on the 2006-07 Tiger team, including coach and athlete biographies as well as statistical information. Also included is archived information and records documenting the program’s 27-year-history.

While considered a source of information for media outlets and other sports information directors and officers, the media guide also serves as a valuable recruiting tool for the coaching staff.

The guide can be viewed online at www.LSUsports.net.

Judging for the contest was based on eight different categories, including team information, program history, graphics and design. All media guides were critiqued by a panel of three judges selected from outside organizations.

CoSIDA is an organization to help SIDs at all levels. The purpose of the organization is to empower its members in their roles as sports information professionals.
