LAS VEGAS — Former LSU players Brandon Bass and Glen Davis finished with strong numbers as the NBA Las Vegas Summer League season wrapped up over the weekend.
The Dallas Mavericks with Brandon Bass beat Davis’ Celtics, 91-70, to give Dallas a perfect 5-0 record. Bass, who has played the last two seasons for the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets and is looking for a team to go to training camp this fall, had 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-4 FT) and five rebounds.
Bass, the 2005 SEC Player of the Year for the Tigers, ends the summer league as the team’s leading scorer with an average of 14.6 points per game.
Davis, a second round (35th overall) pick of the Celtics had a huge game for Boston as he showed his abilities to score down low, handle the basketball and create in traffic. The former SEC Player of the Year (2006) had a team-high 19 points (8-18 FG), 14 rebounds and six blocks.
Davis averaged 12 points, playing 27 minutes a game with 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
