BATON ROUGE — LSU head men’s golf coach Chuck Winstead has cemented his status as one of the top teachers in the country as he has once again been named the No. 1 golf instructor in the state of Louisiana for 2007-08 as announced by Golf Digest on Tuesday.
This marks the second straight cycle that Winstead has earned this distinction as the magazine publishes its rankings of the nation’s top golf instructors every two years. This year’s list was selected by nearly 1,000 teachers from all 50 states who completed Golf Digest’s online ballot.
Winstead, who recently completed his second season as head coach of the Tigers, boasts an impressive resume as an instructor in addition to being a rising coach in the collegiate ranks as he has also been named one of the nation’s Top 100 Teachers by Golf Magazine on two occasions.
