BATON ROUGE — LSU junior basketball player Tasmin Mitchell is one of 30 college basketball player extended invitations to participate in the USA Basketball Men’s Pan American Games Team Trials.
The trial, to be held at Haverford College (Pa.), is set for July 12-14. The trials will be used to select the team for the USA Basketball Pan American Games squad that will look to capture golf at the Pan Am games being held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil later in July.
Villanova University head coach Jay Wright is leading the USA’s 2007 Pan American Games Team, while University of Alabama head coach Mark Gottfried and Yale University head coach James Jones will serve as assistant coaches.
Among SEC players, other than Mitchell, selected for the trials include: Shan Foster of Vanderbilt, Alonzo Gee and Richard Hendrix of Alabama and Chris Lofton of Tennessee.
