BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team appeared at No. 15 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released Tuesday.
The Tigers (15-5, 7-4 SEC) closed out the regular season by defeating the Arkansas Razorbacks, 5-2, on Saturday.
LSU will stay at home for its next contest as it plays host to the SEC Championships for the sixth time in the tournament’s history. The Tigers received the No. 4 seed and a first-round bye. The Tigers will play the winner of the Arkansas and Tennessee match.
In individual rankings, the Tigers still list three singles players and two doubles teams. Senior Ken Skupski was listed at No. 25. The two-time All-America has compiled 21 wins this season, including 11 against ranked opponents.
LSU’s other co-captain, Danny Bryan, is listed at No. 49. Bryan was elected to the SEC Community Service Team earlier in the week.
Junior Kevin Dessauer is ranked at No. 91. The New Orleans native is second on the team with 22 wins.
In doubles, Bryan and Colt Gaston, and James Cluskey and Skupski both jumped in the rankings. Bryan and Gaston improved to No. 7 and Cluskey and Skupski improved to No. 13. Both Tiger tandems have compuled 20 wins this season.
The SEC Tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday.
