BATON ROUGE — Football coach Les Miles, baseball coach Paul Mainieri and women’s basketball coach Van Chancellor are among a handful of LSU coaches who will serve as waiters at the Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center Celebrity Waiter Event on Tuesday night at Walk-on’s.
The dinner, which benefits the Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center, runs from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Walk-on’s on Burbank Drive. The cost of the gourmet, buffet-style meal is $75, which also includes drinks.

Other celebrity waiters at the event include: director of athletics Skip Bertman, General Ron Richard of the Tiger Athletic Foundation, men’s golf coach Chuck Winstead, women’s golf coach Karen Bahnsen, swimming coach Adam Schmitt, volleyball coach Fran Flory, and gymnastics coach D-D Breaux.
In addition to the dinner, there will also be both live and silent auctions at the event. Some of the items up for auction on Tuesday night include: 2 tickets to the LSU vs. Alabama football game; 4 tickets to Kathy Miles’ suite for the LSU vs. Virginia Tech game; 2 Kenny Chesney concert tickets in Lafayette; LSU football jersey signed by Les Miles; New Orleans Saints signed football; LSU football signed by JaMarcus Russell, Dwayne Bowe, and LaRon Landry; a David Toms autographed photo and visor.
The Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center provides a child-friendly setting for the forensic interviews of children who have been abused. The center also provides on-going individual therapy to the child as well as giving supportive services to their non-offending caregivers, all at no cost to the family.
