BATON ROUGE — The LSU women’s tennis team lists two doubles teams and one singles player in the latest rankings, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association released on Tuesday.
Sophomores Megan Falcon and Mykala Hedberg entered the doubles rankings at No. 42. They are undefeated as a duo boasting a 6-0 dual match record, 4-0 in the Southeastern Conference.
“I was really excited to see Megan (Falcon) and Mykala (Hedberg) hop into the rankings,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “It will be nice to see them move up in doubles.”
Falcon and her former partner, freshman Hannah Robinson, remain in the rankings and have moved up to No. 30. They own a 14-5 overall record. They have gone 6-4 in dual play this season.
Falcon, the Alameda, Calif. native, is listed at No. 3 in singles rankings. This is a slight drop from her previous rank of No. 2, but Falcon has not faltered in dual play. She owns a 27-2 overall record, the two losses coming in the fall season.
In the spring, Falcon is undefeated in the No. 1 slot in dual play. She is 17-0, 8-0 in the SEC.
“Megan (Falcon) has been in the top five all year, and she looks really good,” Minnis said.
The Lady Tigers will take these new rankings on the road as they travel to continue SEC West play against Alabama on Friday and Auburn on Sunday.
