BATON ROUGE — LSU football fans are reminded that contributors to LSU’s Tradition Fund, who are not already TAF members, can earn three bonus LSU Priority Points by joining the Tiger Athletic Foundation at or above the $100 level. For bonus points to apply toward ticket and parking availability for the 2007 LSU football season, contributions to the TAF must be made by Saturday, March 31. See below for more information.
About the LSU Priority Point System
The LSU Priority Point System combines points earned by members of the Tiger Athletic Foundation through the TAF’s existing point system with points awarded to contributors to the LSU’s Tradition Fund, as well as donations to the LSU Foundation and LSU Alumni Association.
The LSU Priority Point System is used to distribute tickets for games in which the requests for tickets outnumber the tickets allotted to LSU, and also to determine seating locations for all road events and access to parking passes to LSU athletic home events.
How Points Are Awarded
Points are awarded based on one point per $1,000 contributed to either TAF or LSU’s Tradition Fund. Two points are awarded for each $1,000 contributed to TAF for philanthropic purposes. In addition, three bonus points are awarded annually when a fan contributes more than $100 to TAF.
Tradition Fund contributors received point credit for contributions retroactive to the 2004 season when the Tradition Fund was first introduced, as well as three bonus points for each of the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Tradition Fund contributors — who are not already TAF members — can continue to receive the three bonus points per year by joining the TAF at or above the $100 level. Tradition Fund members will continue to receive credit each year for their Tradition Fund contributions based on one point per $1,000.
It is important to know that March 31st is the deadline for ticket and parking upgrades for the 2007 football season. On that day, LSU and TAF will take a snapshot of the rankings and will use that list to distribute all newly available tickets and parking passes.
