Showdown between the Green Wave and the Tigers set for Tuesday, April 3, with first pitch slate for 7 p.m.

NEW ORLEANS — Single-game tickets to the most storied series in the history of both schools will go on sale Monday as tickets for the Tulane/LSU baseball game on April 3 at Zephyr Field though the Tulane Athletics Ticket Office and TicketMaster.

Tickets for the area behind home plate on the first level of “The Shrine on Airline” go for $25, and all other tickets sell for $20. The April 3 contest will be the seventh showdown between the two teams at Zephyr Field, and the Green Wave hold a 5-2 series advantage in those ballgames.

Tulane/LSU tickets can be purchased in person at the Tulane Athletics Ticket Office, over the phone at 504-861-WAVE (9283) or on-line at www.TulaneGreenWave.com. The ticket office is located on the first floor of the James W. Wilson, Jr. Center and is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Baseball fans can also purchase tickets through TicketMaster over the phone at 504-522-5555 (New Orleans) or 225-761-8400 (Baton Rouge), on the internet at www.TicketMaster.com, or at any TicketMaster outlet.

The Tulane/LSU contest at “The Shrine” has drawn some of the top crowds in the history of the Metairie-based facility. In 2001, the two teams set an NCAA record for combined attendance in the three-game Super Regional matchup with saw the Green Wave earn their first trip to the College World Series. The two teams also set the Zephyr Field attendance record with 12,069 fans were on hand to watch Tulane defeat LSU, 11-8, on April 19, 2005.
