BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team continues to climb the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings as they moved up to No. 13 in the latest rankings released Tuesday.
The Tigers (9-2, 3-1 SEC) picked up two 6-1 victories in SEC play this past weekend. The Tigers defeated the Kentucky Wildcats on Friday and the Vanderbilt Commodores on Sunday.
The Southeastern Conference is well represented in the rankings as seven of its teams are listed in the top 30, including No. 1 Georgia.
Three out of LSU’s nine wins have come against opponents ranked in the top 30. LSU’s only two loses were against No. 1-ranked Georgia and the No. 3-ranked Ohio State.
Individual rankings were not released this week. The Tigers represent two doubles teams in the top 10 with James Cluskey and Ken Skupski (No. 5), and Danny Bryan and Colt Gaston (No. 9.)
In singles, the Tigers list three players, including Ken Skupski (No. 21), Danny Bryan (No. 37) and Kevin Dessauer (No. 86.)
The Tigers will take a break from SEC play this weekend when they travel to College Station on Saturday for a match with the Texas A&M Aggies at 1 p.m.
