Softball Opens SEC Play Against Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. — The ninth-ranked LSU softball team hits the road this weekend to open Southeastern Conference play at Ole Miss, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. and concluding with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

“We are very thrilled to be starting the SEC season,” said LSU head coach Yvette Girouard. “We feel like this is the exciting part of the schedule, when we get to play the familiar opponent. It’s like a back-yard battle with all the opponents that Tiger fans are familiar with.”

LSU will continue to play with several key member of the team out due to injury and several other players shifted around in unfamiliar roles.
