BATON ROUGE — The LSU softball team will be in action 33 times at Tiger Park during the 2007 regular season, including six televised games, and season tickets are still available to catch all the action.

Season tickets for the upcoming year are on sale at the LSU Ticket Office for $60 for reserved seats. Fans are encouraged to get their season tickets this season to guarantee great seats in the new Tiger Park.

Fans can purchase tickets online at the official web site of LSU Athletics, LSUsports.net, at the ticket office or call (225) 578-2184 or (800) 960-8587. LSU students, faculty and staff are admitted free with an LSU ID.

The Tigers will make their first television appearance of the season on March 7 as LSU hosts in-state rival McNeese State at 6 p.m. on Cox Sports Television (cable channel 27). On March 18, Cox Sports will broadcast the Tigers’ game against Florida at 1 p.m. in Tiger Park.

LSU will have two of its three home games against Southeastern Conference-rival Alabama televised as Cox Sports broadcasts the first game of the March 24 doubleheader and Fox Sports (cable channel 28) televises the final game of the series on March 25.

On April 11, Cox Sports will broadcast the Tigers’ game against in-state rival Southeastern Louisiana at 6 p.m. at Tiger Park. The final regular season televised game of the year will be on April 28 at home in the first game of a doubleheader against Tennessee.

The Tigers will open the season at home on Friday, Feb. 9 in the Easton Tiger Classic. LSU will begin play at 3:30 p.m. against Memphis before taking on Middle Tennessee State. The Tigers will also face Missouri and Centenary as part of the three-day tournament.

After a mid-week game against Louisiana-Monroe on Feb. 14 at 6 p.m., the Tiger will be at home to host the Easton Purple & Gold Challenge Feb. 23-25. LSU will host Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Louisiana Tech, Troy and Southern Miss as part of that three-day tournament. The Tigers will close out their home schedule in February with a doubleheader against Alcorn State on Feb. 27 beginning at 4 p.m.

Following LSU’s televised game against McNeese State on March 7, the Tigers will host Texas-San Antonio on March 13 at 6 p.m. to close out pre-conference action. LSU will begin league play against Florida with a three-game series on March 17-18. The following weekend, the Tigers host Alabama to close out the month at home.

LSU kicks off April with a mid-week doubleheader against Kentucky on the third. South Carolina comes to town Easter weekend for a three-game series that begins on Friday and concludes on Saturday. Following the televised game against Southeastern on April 11, the Tigers will host a mid-week game against cross-town rival Southern on April 17. LSU closes out the regular season home schedule on April 28-29 with a crucial SEC series against Tennessee.

Last season, the Tigers tied the school record for most home wins, posting a 31-3 record at Tiger Park. LSU rattled off 15 straight to open the season before later posting a nine-game winning streak. In 10 seasons, the Tigers have won over 87 percent of their home games and enter the 2007 season just 12 wins from 300 at Tiger Park.
