BATON ROUGE — The LSU Tigers will be in the national basketball spotlight next Saturday as the 2007 premiere edition of ESPN’s basketball College Gameday will be held that morning on the floor of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Doors will open at 8:45 a.m. for the free viewing of the show which begins at 10 a.m. The Tiger Band, LSU cheerleaders and the Tiger Girls will all be on hand to entertain during commercial breaks. The first 250 fans in that morning will receive free LSU t-shirts.
The arena will be cleared immediately following the show’s conclusion at 11 a.m. to allow for team practice time prior to the 8 p.m. game that night. Doors will reopen for the LSU-UConn game at 6:30 p.m.
In addition, on the night before the game, the LSU Sports Radio Network will host a special edition of “The John Brady Show Presented by Whitney Bank” at Walk-ons at the corner of Nicholson and Burbank, just outside the gates of LSU. Jim Hawthorne and LSU Coach John Brady will be there for the one-hour show beginning at 7 p.m. to talk about upcoming UConn game and take phone calls and live questions from the audience.
The 17th-ranked Tigers are 10-3 after sweeping three games in the Hispanic College Funds Classic at the Maravich Center this past week.
