BATON ROUGE — LSU student-athletes will make Christmas a little brighter for several families in the Baton Rouge area on Thursday night as members of the Tiger athletics teams will deliver presents to families at the Christmas Toy Drive party in the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes.
For the third consecutive year, the Toy Drive will culminate in a party where the student-athletes will present their sponsored families with presents in the Bo Campbell Auditorium, beginning at 6:30 p.m. In addition to receiving presents and meeting LSU’s student-athletes, the children will be treated to a visit from Santa Claus.
The Toy Drive is an annual event sponsored by the Shaquille O’Neal/CHAMPS Life Skills Center. All of the athletics teams and several athletics departments sponsored children from Catholic Community Services and have collected toys and presents from those children’s wish lists. Those toys will be delivered to the children out at the party.
