BATON ROUGE — Former LSU standout running back Joseph Addai is one of five players from around the National Football League up for this week’s NFL Rookie of the Week honors.
Addai rushed for 171 yards and four touchdowns in Indianapolis’ 45-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday. The four TD runs set a franchise rookie record for the Colts. Addai also added two receptions for 37 yards in the contest to run his total yardage total to 208 yards for the game.
The 171 yards rushing and four touchdowns both marked career-highs for Addai. Addai currently ranks among the league leaders with 789 rushing yards this year for the 10-1 Colts.
Other players up for NFL Rookie of the Week honors this week include Kansas City defensive end Tamba Hali, Arizona quarterback Matt Leinart, New England running back Laurence Maroney, and Tennessee quarterback Vince Young.
