Falcon Advances to Round of 16 at National Indoors

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Sophomore Megan Falcon of the LSU women’s tennis team advanced to the second round of play at the ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships.

“I am so impressed with Megan’s competitiveness. She has been hurt for the past 10 days and has not practiced,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “She is so tough mentally that she is capable of playing with anyone.”

Falcon defeated No. 28-ranked Riza Zalameda of UCLA in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.

She will face No. 27-ranked Jenna Long of North Carolina in the second round of play on Friday at approximately 10 a.m. CT.
