COLLEGE STATION, Texas — After two productive Southeastern Conference dual meets, the LSU swimming and diving team looks to continue its success at the Art Adamson Invitational, Nov. 17-19, at the Texas A&M Student Recreation Center Natatorium.

The six-team meet features three teams ranked in the women’s Top 25 and three squads ranked in the men’s Top 25. The host Aggies carry the No. 9 ranking on the women’s side and the 25th-ranking on the men’s side. Michigan features two teams ranked in the Top 15, while SMU, Illinois and Pacific round out the field.

Friday and Saturday’s competition gets underway at 10 a.m. with preliminaries for each event. A finals session concludes the day’s events at 6 p.m. Preliminaries on Sunday are slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by finals at 4:30 p.m.

Friday’s schedule features the 200 freestyle relay, the 500 free, the 200 individual medley, the 50 free, 1-meter diving and the 400 medley relay.

The LSU women (3-2, 2-2 SEC) enter the invitational after going 1-1 in SEC dual-meet action last weekend. After competing well against No. 2 Florida on Thursday, the Lady Tigers dominated Alabama, 163-137, before a boisterous crowd at the LSU Natatorium last Friday.

It was the first time since the 1998-99 seasons that the Lady Tigers had defeated the Crimson Tide in consecutive seasons. In that meet, LSU posted three 1-2-3 finishes, six individual victories and a sweep of both relays and diving events.

Senior diver Hali Saucier, who set a school record in the 3-meter last Thursday, holds the highest 3-meter, six-dive total in the SEC this season (340.35). Saucier is also second in the league in the 1-meter (321.37), trailing only South Carolina’s Lyndsey Havens for first.

Freshman Signe Larson owns the fifth-fastest 100 breaststroke time in the SEC with a mark of 1:04.20 she swam versus Alabama. Sophomore Katie Gilmore holds the sixth-best 50 free clocking in the league (23.48).

Meanwhile, the LSU men head into the weekend after an outstanding showing against No. 21 Alabama last Friday. The Tigers nearly stunned the Crimson Tide in a meet that came down to the final event, the 400 free relay.

Junior Miko Malberg carries the second-best 50 free time in the SEC into the meet, swimming a time of 20.33 against the Tide. Junior Kevin Braud ranks in the top eight in the league of both backstroke events, and sophomore Christoph Lubenau is fifth in the league in the 100 butterfly (50.00).
