PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — Five members of the LSU women’s tennis team are set to compete in the Southeastern Conference Coaches Classic held at the Peachtree Tennis Center in Peachtree City, Ga.
“This is a good way to end our fall season. The girls get to see what they will be up against in the spring,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “Hopefully, they will play with the fire and intensity they have been all season.”
In singles play, sophomore Mykala Hedberg will compete in the “A” flight, while junior Staten Spencer and freshman Nicole Kantor will be in the “B” flight.
Freshmen Ashley Murdock and Sloane Mathis will also compete in singles play in the “C” and “D” flights, respectively.
In doubles play, Spencer and Hedberg will play in flight “A”, while Murdock and Kantor will represent the Lady Tigers in the “B” flight.
This tournament, which includes players from the 12 SEC schools, will run from Thursday trough Sunday.
Doubles play begins Thursday at 4:30 p.m. CST. Singles play will begin Friday.
The SEC Coaches Classic also concludes the Lady Tigers’ fall season. They play in one more preseason tournament in early January at Michigan before beginning the regular season Jan. 27 in a double dual match versus in-state opponents Southern and Louisiana Tech.
