BATON ROUGE — LSU fans will be able to get their fill of some of the nation’s top action in the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and swimming and diving over the next 13 days as the Tigers will host 15 home events during that span.
Tonight’s women’s basketball exhibition game against Lake Truck marks the start of a stretch that will see the 10th-ranked women’s basketball team play five times in the Maravich Assembly Center over the next 13 days.
The women’s basketball team opens its regular season on Nov. 12 as they host West Virginia at 2 p.m. That game will be followed by a 7:15 p.m. contest against Howard on Nov. 13 and a 7:15 p.m. tipoff against Virginia Tech on Nov. 14. The Lady Tigers close out their 13-day stretch on Nov. 16 against Louisiana-Lafayette at 7 p.m. at the Maravich Center.
The men’s basketball team, ranked No. 5 in the recently released Associated Press Poll, will play a pair of exhibition games along with its first two regular season games during that span starting Nov. 9 against EA Sports. The Tigers, a Final Four team a y ear ago, open their regular season on Nov. 17 against Nicholls State at 7 p.m. at the Maravich Center.
LSU’s Fran Flory and her 11th-ranked volleyball team will close out its home schedule this week, hosting Arkansas at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 followed by a 7 p.m. contest against Alabama on Nov. 10.
The Tigers’ 12th-ranked football team will look to keep its 11-game home field winning streak alive as they host Alabama on Nov. 11 followed by the home finale against Ole Miss on Nov. 18. The Tigers, who are 7-2 overall, go into the Alabama contest having won 12 straight games in the month of November dating back to the 2003 season.
LSU’s swimming and diving teams will be in action as well during the 13-day stretch as they host Florida at 1 p.m. at the LSU Natatorium on Nov. 8 followed by a 3:30 p.m. meet against Alabama on Nov. 10.
