BATON ROUGE — LSU made its biggest move of the season in the Bowl Championship Series Standings on Sunday, moving five spots from No. 17 to No. 12, following Saturday’s 28-24 win over eighth-ranked Tennessee.
The Tigers, now 7-2 overall and 3-2 in Southeastern Conference action, are one four SEC teams ranked in the top 12 in the BCS Standings. Florida leads all SEC teams at No. 4 in the BCS, followed by Auburn at No. 6, and Arkansas at No. 11.
Ohio State continues to be No. 1 in the standings with an overall BCS average of .987. The Buckeyes are followed by Michigan at No. 2 with a .971 average and Louisville at No. 3 with a .891 average.
The Tigers, who are also ranked No. 12 in the Associated Press Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll, have a BCS average of .545, which puts them percentage points behind No. 10 West Virginia (.574) and No. 11 Arkansas (.572).
LSU, who hosts Alabama this week, closes out its regular season on Friday, Nov. 24 against the Razorbacks in Little Rock.
