LAFAYETTE, La. — Three members of the LSU men’s tennis team will head west this weekend for the final tournament of the fall season as they will compete in the Ragin’ Cajun Classic, hosted by the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
The tournament, which begins Friday and ends Sunday, will be comprised of two singles flights, red and white, and one doubles flight. This is the sixth-straight year the Tigers have competed at this event.
“This is the last tournament of the fall for us and we are looking for a strong finish,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “We are looking for Danny, Eric and Kevin to build of the early success they had at the Regionals.”
Five teams will be joining the Tigers for this tournament including host Louisiana-Lafayette, Alcorn, Lamar, Southeastern Louisiana and the University of Texas-Pan American.
Danny Bryan, Eric DeRoche and Kevin Dessauer will compete in the red singles flight beginning at 10:30 a.m. Bryan will face Southeastern’s Vlad Paunic, Dessauer will take on Alcron’s Abhaya Prakash and DeRoche will battle Lamar’s Mario Janjic.
Additionally, DeRoche and Dessauer will participate in the doubles portion of the tournament as they battle Lamar’s Tyler Cobb and Brett Sticker.
Doubles play will begin at 4 p.m.
