BATON ROUGE — Junior forward Sara Pollock has been named one of nine members of the 2006 Southeastern Conference Soccer Good Works Team as announced by the league office Monday.
Pollock is one of nine student-athletes named to the team, which includes a representative from each school except Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi State. The Baton Rouge native serves as Vice President on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council at LSU and has contributed in many community service projects with the 4-H University Club.
She has visited the pediatric ward at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on numerous occasions, while also participating in the ALS Walk this past Saturday to help raise money for the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease and attending the third-annual Halloween Boozar on Monday.
Pollock is the third Tiger to be named to the SEC Soccer Good Works Team, joining former Tigers Artie Brown in 2003, Chelsea Agar in 2004 and Elena Sutherland in 2005. She earned her third varsity letter at LSU after making eight appearances in 2006 and will be one of four seniors on the squad next season.
