Soccer to Host Costume Party at Friday Night’s Game

BATON ROUGE — The LSU soccer team is set to host this year’s Kicking Costume Party on Friday night when it welcomes SEC Western Division rival Arkansas to the LSU Soccer Complex in a crucial match scheduled for 7 p.m.

Free admission will be given to anyone dressed in their favorite Halloween costume with the owner of the best costume receiving a free gift certificate to Walk-On’s Bistreaux courtesy of the LSU Marketing and Promotions Department. LSU students will also be admitted for free by presenting a valid student ID at the gate.

A pre-game Fall Frenzy is scheduled to begin an hour prior to kickoff at 6 p.m. in the activity area set up directly behind the bleachers. Kids will have the opportunity to go trick-or-treating, play a variety of games, have their faces painted and take a picture with Mike the Tiger at one of the many fun booths that will be set up.

“This will be a great opportunity for fans to come out and just have a lot of fun at the last soccer home game of the season,” said marketing and promotions director Jenni Peters. “We’ll have a lot of great games and activities set up for the kids to enjoy, and those in attendance will be able to try out their Halloween costumes before next Tuesday.”

A large crowd is expected for the game as the Tigers must defeat the Razorbacks to stay alive in the race for the eighth and final spot in the SEC Tournament that begins Nov. 1 in Orange Beach, Ala. The Tigers are looking to make an appearance in the conference tournament two years in a row for the first time in program history.
