FORT WORTH, Texas — Megan Falcon and Hannah Robinson of the LSU women’s tennis team advanced in doubles play to the quarterfinal round in the ITA Southwest Regional.
In doubles play, Falcon and Robinson defeated TCU’s Loli Gomez and Leila Salek, 8-1, to advance to the quarterfinals where they will face the No. 1 seed Tiffany Clifford and Sarah Foster of Texas A&M.
In singles play, junior Anastasiya Dubova fell in straight sets to the No. 1 seed from Baylor, Zuzana Cerna, 6-2, 6-4.
Freshmen Nicole Kantor and Hannah Robinson were defeated by the No. 2 and 3 seeds, Anna Lubinsky of Texas A&M and Klara Zrustova of Baylor, respectively.
No. 12 seed sophomore Mykala Hedberg also fell in straight sets to Texas A&M’s Elze Potgieter, 6-4, 6-1.
They will all compete in consolation play Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
