MIDLAND, Texas — Staten Spencer of the LSU women’s tennis team won the consolation draw at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational.
“Staten fought really hard and played solid tennis,” LSU assistant coach Lisa Jackson said. “The tournament was a positive experience for both Staten and Hannah (Robinson).”
Spencer defeated her opponent Anete Bandera from Pepperdine in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5.
The Lady Tigers will continue their fall season at the ITA Southwest Regional which begins on Oct. 19 at the Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
