PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Sophomore Megan Falcon of the LSU women’s tennis team is set to compete with 64 of the top collegiate players in the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships.

Falcon will kick off the tournament in the pre-qualifying round on Saturday against Hawaii’s Sabita Walkup. Falcon must win three matches to reach the qualifying round which begins on Tuesday.

“We know Megan has a lot of ability and we are hoping she will be able to play pretty well this weekend in California,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “This will be a good test for her to see where her game is. She is capable of playing with anybody. Hopefully, she will go out there and play up to her ability.”

Should Falcon defeat Walkup, she will take on the winner of Ceci Olivos of Oregon and Laura Lui of Northwestern at 5:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. Falcon is a 9-16 seed in the pre-qualifying draw.

The Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships, the Nov. 2-5 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, and the year-end NCAA Championships are college tennis’ three national championship events during the season.

The famous Riviera Tennis Club has played host to this event since 1988.
