BATON ROUGE — Former LSU running back Joseph Addai is one of five players from around the NFL who have been named finalists for NFL Rookie of the Week honors, the league announced today.
Addai, now with the Indianapolis Colts, rushed for a career-best 82 yards on 16 carries in the Colts’ 43-24 win over Houston on Sunday. Addai added a pair of receptions for 22 yards, including a 21-yard catch-and-run touchdown that put the Colts up 14-0 in the first quarter. The touchdown was the first of Addai’s career.
Other finalists for NFL Rookie of the Week honors include wide receiver Marques Colston of the New Orleans Saints, linebacker Manny Lawson of the San Francisco 49ers, running back Laurence Maroney of the New England Patriots and running back DeAngelo Williams of the Carolina Panthers.
The NFL Rookie of the Week honor is determined by the fans. To vote, fans can go to www.NFL.com/rookies/vote to cast their ballot. The voting is open until 4 p.m. on Thursday. The winner of this week’s NFL Rookie of the Week award will be announced Thursday night.
