BATON ROUGE — The Shaquille O’Neal CHAMPS/Life Skills program at LSU has announced that a few spots remain in the annual Shaquille O’Neal Life Skills Golf Classic on Friday, Sept. 1 at the Island Golf Course in Plaquemine.

There will be two shotgun start groupings — 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Entry fee is $150 a person or $600 for a team with hole sponsorships available for $300. There will be a jambalaya and catfish lunch available for all contestants and awards will be given for low new score, low gross score, closest to the pin, longest drive and hole in one. Every team will have their picture taken with Shaquille O’Neal of the NBA champions, the Miami Heat.
The Shaquille O’Neal CHAMPS/Life Skills program holds eight events, more than 25 workshops and countless community service projects and trips each academic year. While some of these projects are funded from the annual budget, much of what is done could not be possible without the support of our donors.
The purpose of this event is to not only create more financial stability but to continue to promote the outstanding efforts of our student-athletes, on and off the field.
