BATON ROUGE — LSU assistant track and field coach Boo Schexnayder will serve as an assistant coach for the United States’ men’s team at the World Junior Championships in Beijing, China.
Schexnayder, who will begin his 12th season as LSU’s jumps and multi-event coaches in the fall, is widely regarded as one of the nation’s premier field event coaches.
The Vacherie, La., native has coached seven Olympians and multiple World Championships competitors, including two-time triple jump world champion, Walter Davis, and Olympic silver medalist, John Moffitt.
Equally successful at the collegiate level, Schexnayder has guided his athletes to 19 individual NCAA titles and 42 SEC Championships.
The World Junior Championships get underway Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Beijing Chaoyang Sports Fitness and Leisure Park.
