BATON ROUGE — Former LSU running back Joseph Addai makes his NFL debut tonight when the Indianapolis Colts take on the St. Louis Rams at 7 p.m. CT at the RCA Dome in St. Louis.
The game will be televised nationally by Fox and can be seen locally on cable ch. 6.
Addai, the 30th overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft last April, is expected to see extensive duty at running back, along with veteran Dominic Rhodes. Rhodes is expected to start tonight against the Rams, but Addai will see plenty of action.
Addai, who wore No. 10 during his career with LSU, will wear No. 29 for the Colts.
Both players are expected to see action with the first unit and quarterback Peyton Manning.
“Both of those guys need quite a few reps,” Manning said. “Those guys don’t need to get pounded or hit a bunch, but (to) just get out there and sort of play the mental game would be a big part of it.”
