BATON ROUGE — The latest installment of LSU Sports Journal, a program highlighting various aspects of the LSU Athletics Department, can be seen at 7:30 p.m. Monday on Cox Communications Channel 4 in Baton Rouge.
The show, hosted by Jordy Hultberg and Bill Franques, is a monthly, one-hour production featuring interviews with LSU coaches, athletes and administrators. LSU Sports Journal airs each Monday at 7:30 p.m. and each Thursday at 9 p.m.
The current show features LSU women’s basketball coach Pokey Chatman as she discusses the Katrina Relief Basketball Classic, a game that matches the Lady Tigers versus Louisiana Tech on December 30 in the New Orleans Arena. Proceeds from the game will benefit Habitat for Humanity and Friends of the New Orleans Recreation Department.
The show also includes LSU baseball assistant coach Blair Barbier, who recounts his days as an all-SEC infielder while looking forward to working under new head coach Paul Mainieri.
The show concludes with an appearance by senior associate athletics director Judy Southard, who discusses LSU’s role as a host site for the NCAA women’s basketball tournament in 2008 and 2009. Southard also previews the upcoming LSU soccer and volleyball seasons.
LSU Sports Journal also airs on the Cox Communications affiliates in the seven-parish Greater Baton Rouge area and on the Cox Sports Television regional network.
