BATON ROUGE — LSU Sports Properties announced on Wednesday the signing of the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center to a five-year sponsorship agreement in support of LSU Athletics. With more than $50 million in renovations, the hotel will open in time to play host to LSU Sunday Night Live!, a one-hour radio call-in show during the football season.
“We are thrilled to make our debut this fall in Baton Rouge and to be a part of another exciting Tigers football season by hosting LSU Sunday Night Live!” said Austin Van De Vate of the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center. “Our hotel was once an integral part of Baton Rouge, so our support of LSU Athletics complements the return of the hotel to its former state of grandeur, and it’s a great way for us to show our commitment not only to the Tigers but the Baton Rouge community as a whole.”
In addition to being the on-site host of LSU Sunday Night Live!, the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center will be the presenting sponsor of Ask the Announcer, have a presence on LSUsports.net and signage at Tiger Stadium and the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
“The restoration of the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center is exciting for the Baton Rouge community, and we are pleased their support of the community extends to LSU Athletics,” said Ward Wyatt, general manager of LSU Sports Properties. “We are thrilled to add an organization of the stature of Hilton to our prestigious list of corporate partners. Their support benefits our athletic programs, student athletes and, of course, our fans.”
The first LSU Sunday Night Live! of the 2006 Tigers’ season will air at 6 p.m. on Sept. 3 on the LSU Sports Radio Network from the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center.
