College Baseball Hall of Fame Ceremony to be Televised

BATON ROUGE — A replay of the College Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies that included LSU athletics director Skip Bertman will air at Noon CDT Saturday on Fox Sports Net (Cable Ch. 38 in Baton Rouge).

The replay will also air on Fox Sports Net on Saturday, July 22 at 3 p.m. CDT and on Saturday, July 29 at 3:30 p.m. CDT.

Bertman and nine other legendary players and coaches were inducted into the hall of fame on July 4 in Lubbock, Texas.

Bertman led the Tigers to five NCAA championships during his 18-year tenure as baseball coach, and he became LSU’s athletics director in 2001. The Hall of Fame class also includes coaches Bobby Winkles of Arizona State, Ron Fraser of Miami, Cliff Gustafson of Texas and Rod Dedeaux of USC, and standout former players Bob Horner of Arizona State, Robin Ventura of Oklahoma State, Dave Winfield of Minnesota, Will Clark of Mississippi State and Brooks Kieschnick of Texas.

A crowd of 600-plus attended the ceremonies in conjunction with festivities surrounding the annual Fourth of July on Broadway in Lubbock. The Texas Tech Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library is housing artifacts and historical pieces for the College Baseball Hall of Fame.
