BATON ROUGE — LSU track athletes Jon Chretien and Megan Duet were each named to the SEC Track and Field Good Works Team it was announced Wednesday by the conference office.
The student-athletes were recognized for their superior community service efforts throughout the academic school year.
Chretien, a native of Fresno, Calif., and Duet, a Houma, La., product participated in several community service projects, including LSU’s annual Halloween BOOzar, were they handed out candy and played games with children in the community.
The pair also helped raise money and bought clothes and toys for an underprivileged child that the track team adopted during Christmas time.
In addition, both Chretien and Duet participated in the National Education Association’s Reading Across America program, where they read books to students at Prescott Middle School.
